SECURE TRAVELLINK CLASSIC PLAN

Overview

The Secure TravelLink Classic travel plan provides 8 different types of coverage for travelling outside of Canada for business or pleasure. You can purchase this plan simply by answering some yes or no health questions - you can even get coverage for your current health conditions. Our premiums are among the lowest in Canada. By selecting a higher deductible amount, you can reduce your premiums even further. Explore the family of Secure TravelLink plans and purchase the right coverage for you and your family.


Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be a resident of Canada and covered by a Provincial Government Health Insurance Plan for the entire duration of your trip. If studying abroad, your study period cannot be longer than 30 days during a one-year period. You may pay a premium surcharge to have this eligibility requirement removed.

Benefits

If you are under 55, there is no deductible for claims. If you are 55 or older, benefits are subject to a deductible of $200 U.S. However, you can pay an extra premium to have this deductible removed or reduced. With the Secure TravelLink Classic plan, you receive the following 8 types of coverage.

Emergency Hospital Services
Provides coverage for a semi-private hospital room and all other necessary hospital expenses when confined as a registered in-patient due to an emergency. Some conditions apply; see your policy for details.

Emergency Medical Services
Provides coverage for emergency medical, surgical, or anesthetic services when performed and authorized by a physician or anesthetist. Some conditions apply; see your policy for details.

Extended Health Care
The following services, supplies or treatment must be emergency-related and supported by a written order from the Attending Physician.

Prescription drugs (limited to a 30-day supply), up to $10,000
X-rays and laboratory services, up to $10,000
Local licensed ambulance services, up to $5,000
Wheelchair rental, crutches, braces and other necessary medical appliances, up to $5,000. Prior approval needed
Private duty services of a Registered Nurse or Registered Medical Attendant, other than a relative, up to $10,000. Prior approval needed
Prescribed services of a chiropractor and physiotherapist, up to $5,000. Prior approval needed

Emergency Air Ambulance / Return Home
If medically required, this benefit provides up to $250,000 for air ambulance and up to $25,000 for a regular flight home to Canada. Prior written approval is needed. Some conditions apply; see your policy for details.

Repatriation
If you become totally disabled or die during your trip, this benefit provides up to $5,000 to return you to Canada ($10,000 for students). Should you die during your trip and your survivors wish to bury you in the visited country, this benefit provides up to $2,500 for burial or cremation expenses. Transportation a Relative
If you suffer a serious injury or sickness, this benefit provides up to $2,000 for a round-trip economy-class fare for a family member (not travelling with you) to travel to you. An additional $100 each day is provided for the family member's meals and accommodation expenses. Prior written approval is needed. Some conditions apply; see your policy for details.

Dental Accident
This benefit provides up to $2,000 for dental treatment required as a result of an accidental blow to the head or mouth. Treatment must be sought within the 90-day period following the accident and prior to your return to Canada. Some conditions apply; see your policy for details.

Vehicle Return
If you suffer a serious injury or sickness, and you or your travelling companion are unable to return your vehicle to Canada, this benefit provides up to $2,000 to return your vehicle home. Likewise, if are unable to return a rental vehicle, this benefit provides up to $2,000 toward the cost of returning the rental vehicle to the agency. Prior written approval is needed.
